TEKTRONIX ACCELERATES WORKPLACE TRANSITION TO COLOR

 

WILSONVILLE, Ore., April 8, 1999 - Tektronix Inc. (NYSE:TEK) is bringing color to the everyday workplace using Colorize.com (www.colorize.com), an educational Web site dedicated to bringing color to the business document creator.

Colorize.com was launched in April of 1998. Today the site averages 1 million hits, 200,000 impressions and 17,000 user sessions per month. Colorize.com has also won four awards, including the prestigious 1998 Web Award for Best Publishing Web Site. Other awards include:

- 1998 @d:Tech Awards - silver best overall creative design

- 1998 Golden Screen Awards Winner: Computing Technology Industry Association

-1998 Finalist: London International Advertising Awards

"Colorize.com is a success. The site has received hundreds of responses from customers in its single year of operation, our competitors' customers and people considering adding color to their documents," said John Kelly, director of installed based marketing for Tektronix. Tektronix Accelerates Workplace Transition to Color Colorize.com is one of many innovative examples of how Tektronix is helping people make the move to color printing.

- Tektronix provides Free Black Ink for its solid ink printers, which greatly reduces costs per page and makes spot color affordable on typical black and white office documents.

- The Phaser® 740L is the world's only color capable laser printer. It can be converted to color at any time, simply by adding color toner cartridges.

- Tektronix' Phaser 740 was the first workgroup color printer to break the $2,000 color barrier, being offered at an estimated selling price (ESP) of $1,995.
