Intergraph and Mobil Sign Global Supplier Agreement

 

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., April 2, 1999 - Intergraph Corporation (NASDAQ:INGR) today announced that it has signed a global supplier agreement with Mobil Corporation (NYSE:MOB). Under terms of the agreement, Intergraph will supply software, support services and hardware to Mobil refining and chemical manufacturing facilities worldwide. The agreement will allow Mobil to take full advantage of Intergraph's global delivery and support services. With offices in 65 countries and four global centers of process industry excellence, Intergraph is strategically positioned to effectively support Mobil projects or facilities anywhere. The agreement is expected to increase Mobil's user productivity through Intergraph support as well as decrease total cost of ownership of software and hardware.

Program Includes Most Intergraph Engineering Software

Software covered by the agreement consists of virtually all Intergraph product offerings for engineering, most of which are for the petroleum, petrochemical and chemical process industries. Software includes the Plant Design System (PDS) for design, engineering, operation and maintenance of process and other plants; DesignReview®) and SmartPlant Viewer for 3D visualization; SmartPlant Explorer for Web access of plant data; Imagineer Technical for 2D design; and the Asset and Information Management (AIM) suite for managing engineering data, documents and drawings for both existing and new facilities.

Hardware includes workstations such as the Intergraph TDZ® 2000; servers such as those in the InterServe family of hardware; and other computer equipment.

Agreement Provides for Cost-effective Software Deployment

David Stinson, executive vice president, Process & Building Solutions division, Intergraph, said, "The global purchase agreement with Mobil illustrates the value of Intergraph support services, the Plant Design System, design data and related Intergraph software for plant owners and operators. Our goal is to work as a partner with Mobil and maximize benefits to them by helping to make plant data an asset that is usable and accessible throughout the life of the facility for operations, maintenance, safety and retrofits."
