Senior PGA Tour

 

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., March 16, 1999 - Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS), the world’s largest interactive entertainment software company announced today that it is shipping SENIOR PGA TOUR® Golf for the PC. The title features seven top SENIOR PGA TOUR players complete with the booming drives of Ray Floyd and the mock sword fights of Chi Chi Rodriguez, and will be available at a suggested retail price of $19.95.

"We are excited to offer consumers a high quality, budget-priced computer golf game with some of the best golfers to ever play professional golf," said Jon Horsley, executive producer of SENIOR PGA TOUR Golf. "We hope SENIOR PGA TOUR Golf will tap into a new market of consumers who have not previously tried computer golf."

Cyber golfers will be able to import the seven golfers from SENIOR PGA TOUR Golf for play with EA SPORTS™’ PC version of Tiger Woods 99 PGA TOUR® Golf. SENIOR PGA TOUR Golf ships with three championship courses, TPC at The Canyons, TPC at Sawgrass and Colonial Country Club. All three golf courses are also compatible with Tiger Woods 99 PGA TOUR Golf.

Along with Floyd (four major championships, 22 PGA TOUR victories and 13 SENIOR PGA TOUR wins) and Rodriguez (eight PGA TOUR victories and 22 SENIOR PGA TOUR wins), SENIOR PGA TOUR Golf ships with:

  • Al "Mr. 59" Geiberger, the first player to break 60 in an official PGA TOUR event. Geiberger has won the 1966 PGA Championship, 10 PGA TOUR events and 10 SENIOR PGA TOUR championships.
  • Gil "The Dr." Morgan, a licensed doctor of optometry, and the winner of seven PGA TOUR events and 13 SENIOR PGA TOUR championships.
  • Walter Morgan, the winner of three SENIOR PGA TOUR victories and well-known on tour for his cigar-chomping on the course.
