VLSI Appoints New Director of Investor Relations
San Jose, Calif., December 14, 1998 VLSI Technology, Inc.
(NASDAQ: VLSI) today announced the appointment of Lisa Ewbank as the new director of
Investor Relations. Ewbank is responsible for all Investor Relations activities and will
be the focal point of communications between VLSI, its investors and the analyst
community.
Ewbank comes to VLSI from Peco Energy Company in Philadelphia, where she was director
of Investor/Shareholder Relations. Prior to that, she managed Investor Relations for San
Diego Gas and Electric for 3 and a half years and also spent 7 years at Pacific Gas and
Electric Company in San Francisco.

in the investment arena, coupled with her experience in working with the investment

Ewbank holds an MA in Economics from New Mexico State University and a BA in Journalism
from San Jose State University.
