Sequent and Siebel Announce Strategic Alliance
Siebel's Enterprise Relationship Management Applications to Leverage Sequent's
NUMACenter
SAN MATEO, Calif. and BEAVERTON, Ore.—December 7, 1998—Siebel Systems,
Inc. (Nasdaq: SEBL) and Sequent Computer Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: SQNT) today announced a
strategic alliance to deliver Siebel's Enterprise Relationship Management (ERM) solutions
on Sequent's NUMACenter™ platform. In addition, Siebel solutions will be integrated
into Sequent's front-office offerings as a Contact Advantage™ Partner. This
partnership will enable customers to deploy Siebel's integrated family of sales, marketing
and customer service products on NUMACenter, Sequent's data center infrastructure that
leverages the strengths of both UNIX and Windows NT.

As a Strategic Partner in the Siebel Alliance Program, the two companies are working in
concert to:
- ensure tight integration between current and future versions of Siebel's ERM
applications and NUMACenter;
- test, optimize and coordinate delivery and support activities to help customers obtain
maximum performance, reliability and scalability;
- develop benchmarking and competency centers to ensure rapid and successful deployment of
Siebel's ERM solutions on NUMACenter;
- market and sell to mutual customers.
