N.E.T. and Diginet Announce Digital
Data Network Serving Buenos Aires
Growing Business Needs

Fremont, Calif., Monday, November 9, 1998 - N.E.T. (NYSE: NWK) and Diginet Americas, Inc. today announced the expansion of Diginet Argentina S.A.'s Diveo® Digital Dedicated AccessSM service in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Diveo service offers businesses fast access, high capacity and flexible connectivity. Initially targeting the fast growing IP and LAN to LAN traffic segment, the service has been established to create virtual private networks that support voice, data and video requirements.

Diginet Argentina's service coverage will be expanded with the addition of more than ten N.E.T.(TM) Promina(TM) 800 Multiservice Access Platforms located throughout the metropolitan Buenos Aires area. The value of the initial contract with N.E.T. is approximately $3 million.

"Developing a strategic relationship with N.E.T. represents another critical step in strengthening our technical and operational plan to build a world-class network," said Richard Gluzman, general manager, Diginet Argentina S.A.

The high capacity Promina 800 Series platforms will include E3 digital microwave connections for quick deployment of backbone services. From a business subscriber perspective, variable rate data services with connections ranging to E1 speeds will support IP traffic as well as other types of LAN and SNA data traffic. N.E.T. PanaVue(TM) network management will provide an extensive set of remote management and reporting capabilities. Diveo services are designed to allow financial institutions, businesses and government organizations to connect branch offices and clients as if they were connected to the same LAN.

"After completing an extensive review process, we were pleased to select N.E.T. as a new provider to Diginet Argentina supporting our expanding Diveo service," said John Holmblad, senior vice president and chief technology officer, Diginet Americas. "The technical features of the N.E.T. platform combined with N.E.T. service capabilities created a compelling case for our need to quickly deploy services that serve the critical needs of Latin America's urban markets."

The N.E.T. multiservice networks provide intelligent networking for high efficiency, and the ability to integrate frame relay switching and IP data routing that supports growing business demands.
