Red Brick Stockholders Approve
Acquisition by Informix
MENLO PARK, Calif.December 31, 1998Informix® Corporation (NASDAQ:
IFMX) and Red Brick Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: REDB) today announced that Red Brick's
stockholders approved Informix's acquisition of Red Brick at a special meeting held this
morning. Red Brick is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Informix.
In accordance with the acquisition agreement, each outstanding share of Red Brick
common stock was exchanged for 0.6 of a share of Informix common stock, and each
outstanding Red Brick stock option was exchanged for an option to acquire 0.6 of a share
of Informix stock.
This acquisition combines the most powerful data mart and data warehousing technology
and solutions expertise into one company focused on customers' success. The combined
strength of both companies makes for the richest decision support solutions that enable
customers to maximize the use of their data for competitive advantage.
Additional information regarding the acquisition and the transaction will be
